We use it for paragliding, x-sailing, kite flying , sailing, windsurfing and drying our clothes on the washing line.
We're based in Edinburgh, Scotland, which has a fairly reliable supply of wind - so much so that we're thinking of exporting it to other lands, which are not so fortunate in this respect.
We also get more than our fair share of weather, fair and foul, often in the same day. Keeping track of what the weather's doing, and working out what it's going to do, has become an important part of our lives. Getting help from technology takes away a lot of the guesswork. For a truly accurate picture of what the sky is going to throw at us, we don't rely on weather forecasters but instead we make sure that we know exactly what is happening underneath our own piece of sky.
Often this knowledge will make the difference between a good day or a bad day - a safe flight or a dangerous one - a fast trip or a frustratingly slow one upwind - a frustrating day X-sailing or a fantastic day humming along the beach on two wheels.
We have been measuring wind and weather for 20 years now, and a have a pretty good idea of what we like in an instrument.
